So if you look up pancakes on Wikipedia, it’ll say

A pancake is a flat cake, often thin, and round, prepared from a starch-based batter and cooked on a hot surface such as a griddle or frying pan.

Seems pretty normal until you get to the whole pancakes should be round part. Fortunately someone forgot to inform Nathan Shields. His creations are a great little find. From pancakes made to look like Cephalopods to Zach Galifianakis pancakes, each of them are great. Make sure to check out his website and you won’t be bored. Dan Cretu uses a wide variety of eatables to create these creative and fun shots. All of these photos are very light-hearted and full of color. Maybe Fulvio Bonavia’s mother never told him that he shouldn’t play with his food… but to be honest we’re glad about that. Fulvio Bonavia is a well known and award winning Italian photographer. In 2008, he created this classy gallery to show off his food as fashion creativity. We selected some of our favorites above but be sure to check out his whole gallery on his website.

Tutti Frutti by Cristina Otero

Cristina Otero is a Spanish born art lover whose birthday is on November of 1995, which makes her about 16 years old. In those 16 years she’s managed to create powerful imagery, in her gallery entitle Tutti Frutti. Vanessa Dualib is a female artist born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and has quite the knack in creating some egg-citing scenes. We stumbled across her collection and have really enjoyed her creativity. An Apple a Day

We all know the saying “an apple a day keeps the doctor away.” This is a exciting and visually fun way to keep track of just that. A German based advertising company Serviceplan created this unique advertising for a health insurance company AOK. Such a fun idea that we could see in a family setting or even in your office. Milk Bottles of the Future

Anders Drage has brought a glimpse of how beautiful milk bottles could be. As part of some final exams, Anders created a beautiful set of bottles that could deliver his favorite thing, milk. Maybe a local Illinois favorite, Oberweis, would pick up on the idea!

Cupcake Art

London based Crumbs and Dollies Cupcake put together quite a piece with this 10,000 cupcake mosiac. It was displayed on the Japanese show ITTEQ. Crumbs and Dollies are betting that “everyone loves cupcakes” and we would tend to agree. Make sure to see the other creations they have, especially the angry bird cupcakes.

Ant Food by Uda Dennie

It doesn’t have to be human food to be beautiful… it could also be ant food. Uda Dennie is a wonderful photographer who is able to capture the smallest detail… literally. We found his photos of ants eating to particularly wonderful and although it doesn’t stir up any appetites it really makes us look. Be sure to check out his full portfolio on 500px.
